A Painting Demo for Plein air Painters of Riverside

Painters Log, Earth date February 9th 2010
I am back on the blog tonight, it has been quite a while since I've blogged last. I have been finishing up an album titled: Ancient Elements which will be released in the next month of March, it has taken up much time, however it has been enjoyable and rewarding as well.
It is of my Native Flute and chanting accompanied by guitarist Michael Mucklow of New Mexico. I have been also been going through personal problems as well, you know "life happens" especially when you turn 50!!! well here I am I will be blogging a few nights a week with a new series "Mom and Pops" I will be painting images around town of old neighborhood grocery stores like the ones I used to go as a kid, these stores will not be around too much longer as we see bigger development and recession hitting hard these establishments. I am going out this weekend to start the series so I will be blogging next week. I did this M&M electric company "again", but this time I did it as a demo for the PAAR (plein air painters of Riverside) it was a magical night, a rainy night but these die hard Artist came out and we had a blast. So I painted live and answered questions along the way, so I want to take the time to thank all the PAAR group!! you guys rock! thanks for stopping by, remember to keep those brushes wet!
this painting will be for sale at The Blue Core Gallery in the Pomona Arts Colony this 2nd Saturday art walk.

"The Spiky Cactus" in progress

Painters Log Earth Date, October 12th, 2009

Nice cool fall day cold and nippy, I like it ! I am going to do something different, I have just started to paint one of my cactus paintings, so what I am going to do is paint like I do everyday and since this a 3ft x 3ft painting it will not be done in a day, so I will paint and show my progression as well as my process, So watch as this painting unfolds before your eyes. So here is stage one where I just finished the rough sketch as you can see its a spiky cactus and not the ones I am used to doing I do not know the name of them but I know its not "spiky cactus" however I start in the background as you will see tomorrow. Well thanks for stopping by and remember to keep those brushes wet.

The Loading Dock

Painters Log, Earth date October 1st, 2009

The beginning of October this is a great month, the change in the weather is very nice. I will be doing more plein air painting now that its cooler. This painting is a few blocks down the street, its a uniform company, however the building just begs to be painted, My good friend Ren took this shot and he let me use it as a reference to this painting (thanks Ren) its always a challenge to paint a white building, because there is no pure white, its a blend of sky and surrounding area that makes up the color. the company is called Angelica. Well thanks for stopping by and remember to keep those brushes wet.
